New Items!

A friend from work mentioned the need for a three year old birthday present and asked if I was able to do aprons. & it just so happened that one of the projects on my list of things to add to the shop was kid's aprons. This gave me the little boost I needed to get this piece ready for the shop & now for sale.

It turned out better than I imagined & I cannot wait to start working on some more color/pattern combinations! Enjoy!

Three days & three orders

My shop has been open for business for three days & I have three orders in the works. If we continue on this trend, things will be looking good for my new endeavor! Ha!

At the moment I'm working on a few ideas I have for new products in the shop as well. I'm excited to see how these turn out, get pictures taken, and post the items for sale.

If I thought I was busy before, embarking on this new adventure is taking over the top! Not to mention working for three hours tonight on the girls's Easter dresses. Yes. I'm sewing those too (with lots of help from my mom!). I've never sewn an outfit or used a pattern before, so this is all new to me. Luckily my mom is very handy with the sewing machine and has lots of tips to offer.

A brand new beginning.

For Christmas I asked my husband, Mike, for a sewing machine. This was a hobby I had been interested in starting for a while and decided to bite the bullet.

With never having sewed before, I sat down one night after the kids had gone to bed with sewing machine in hand and the instructional DVD that came with it playing away on the t.v. I learned how the wind the bobbin & thread the machine and went to work on fixing the curtains in the playroom that I'd originally rigged up. Project one complete with little mistakes made. I was quite proud of myself.

Not long after, I completed project two. Something near & dear to me. A baby blanket for my friend Julie. Something that breaks my heart now.

Project three was another baby gift for an expecting girlfriend. This time, Cooper, would be the receiver of said gifts. & with this project not only a precious little baby boy, but an idea, was born.

I decided, with my love of all things baby, I'd start an Etsy shop built around burp cloths, bibs, and blankets. Thus, Momma's Itch to Stitch, was created.

I've got a few other ideas up my sleeves but just haven't got to work on them quite yet. While this is truly just a hobby, turning it into a little profit will be nice, but if for some reason it ends up being a big ol' flop...I have a ton of friends who are expecting and will keep me busy for the time being!
